Welcome Slate Readers!

slate.pngI just want to offer a warm welcome to those of you visiting from Slate.com where you probably heard about me from Sonia Smith’s article Getting to “Mission Accomplished”.

This is a diverse blog that is written by me mostly, but with considerable contributions from several regular authors covering various topics from social and political issues to sports and technology. Mostly, it’s about being honest about the issues that matter to us.

My presumption is that you ended up here because you are interested in politics (after all, Sonia’s piece was a political one!). Some other pieces that have been written from an array of perspectives are Open Dialog: How Can We Change a Historical Trend, Admitted “Impeachable Offenses” and Regarding Civil Liberties.

If you’re interested in blogging as a communication medium, you may like to know how to use tags instead of categories or perhaps A Tale of Three Bloggers.

You can also keep up to date with this blog’s RSS feed located here.

Finally, because this is a free-speech zone, I’ve opened up Fridays (all day!) to the masses for Open Mic Friday. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on Friday but I don’t mind letting you write while you’re drunk!

In the meantime, enjoy your stay! I’m enjoying yours.
