Olympic Blogging for the Athletes

by Aaron Brazell on February 10, 2006 · 8 comments

A few days ago, I announced the launch of Light the Torch whereby the b5media network would attempt to blog the games from a wide and varied group perspective. Today, we have connected with some other blog networks (and some we are still waiting for the affirmative head nod) to join up as a truly wide open group blog that network bloggers (and non-network for that matter) as a whole can participate in. We’ve decided that all ad revenue and proceeds from the blog will go to athlete’s organizations which will be announced later.

This is a great opportunity for the blogging community to band together and raise money for agreat groups. Our goal is to raise $5000, but more than that would be better.

For more details, see the Updates on Our Olympics Blog at b5media.

And come participate. It’s not just about networks. :)

Not quite clear on everything-

can any random person sign up and start posting?

It would sound like that is what Jeremy has offered on the mian blog. He’s the boss so I’m inclined to say yes. :)

hm. I have pictures of 3000 spammers suddenly flooding the site with hundreds of post saying:

“u hav prblms with sex? try Viagra”

I’m guessing we’ll have some kind of filter, but that could still get interesting.
