Migration to Wordpress

Since its inception, Technosailor has been powered by Textpattern. Textpattern is an excellent CMS but lacks in some critical areas as a blogging engine. Most notably, it does not include trackback or XML-RPC. To many Textpattern users, this was something that could be overlooked. To me, it is not. After having opportunities to play with Wordpress and witnessing the flexibility it includes, I decided to take some time yesterday to move to the new software. Every effort has been made to maintain permlink structure, and so mod_rewrites have been structured to accomplish that.

There are some formatting nuances that still need to be addressed. As time permits today, I’ll be tackling those issues. Once everything in that arena has been addressed, I’ll be experimenting with some of the new toys in my arsenal, so you may see new bells and whistles added. Some things will remain transparent.

So, here’s to luck.

probably something lost in the Textpattern to Wordpress upgrade a few months ago. The entry is 5 months old so I think I’ll let it pass.
