Hoorah

I’ve been in and out of blogging for some time. Never have enough discipline – but I need to get the discipline. If for no other reason that in about 7 months, I’ll be in Basic Training for the United States Navy at Great Lakes, Illinois. During that time, my discipline in writing will be tested. There will be no telephones. No email. No cell phones. No blogs. No “Honey, I’ll be home in an hour and a half”. No, at Great Lakes RTC, there will be a Bic pen and a spiral notebook.

That and I’m also trying to discover the best blogging software out there. I tried MoveableType, and then WordPress. MoveableType is a good package but as the blog gets bigger (something I am in no danger of having happen to me), it takes longer for those static pages to rebuild. Now they have some funky licensing fee thing going now, so check that off my list. Then I tried Wordpress, which I must say is a pretty cool alternative. However, it seems a little light on the feature side. So now I’m trying Textpress. Must say this is a very cool package but we’ll have to discover its weaknesses.

Cheers until later.

Aaron

Cool, they’re working now, as is the design!

I actually liked the picture of your kid (Ethan, right?), and wanted to show it to Shannon :|

I agree completely. I know I don’t count (not being American), but I really don’t envy you guys your choices this fall.

Obviously I’m far from pro-Bush and don’t think he deserves a second chance any more than Kerry deserves a first chance, but really I have no idea how I’d vote, so I can’t really toss stones.

Corrected. And now, apparently, I need to do something about long url’s. ;)

As a life-long Republican let me say that while it pains me to admit it, Bush couldn’t do anything at this point that would buy or win him my vote in the next election. Even setting all war matters aside I would still have serious problems with him based upon nothing but his fiscal and governmental irresponsibility.

As for the war, I supported getting rid of Saddam. More specifically I supported resolving the first Gulf War, but I feel that Bush had pretty much screwed the pooch at every turn on that count.

No, I have not at this point definitively decided to vote for Kerry, but let me just say that we don’t know for sure what a Kerry WH would bring, but we now know for sure what a second Bush one will.

You could always vote for Gary Nolan. ;)

Great post Aaron.

I agree that your choice this fall is a hard one. Being Canadian, I don’t have the same burden, but I understand the hard choice.
