The Tide won easily over Utah State, hardly unexpected, but more
importantly, Florida beat #4 Georgia. You know what that means, right?
Georgia now is 4-1 in the SEC leaving Alabama alone at the top,
undefeated in the NCAA, undefeated in the SEC.
Bye, bye, Bulldogs. Your national championship hopes have now
withered. Also highly important was a stunning upset of #2 Texas by
unranked Oklahoma State. This will probably serve to push Alabama to
#3 on Monday evening when all is said and done.
In fact, my projected top 5 are:
- USC
- Virginia Tech
- Alabama
- Texas
- Miami
Update: Commenter Dave Maxwell correctly points out that Texas, in fact, won in stellar comeback fashion. Georgia fell farther than I thought they would. Top 5 now look like this according to the AP:
- USC
- Texas
- Virginia Tech
- Alabama
- Miami
