Condi for President

I predicted it as a possibility in November. Offline I have been predicting it more specifically. Now Dick Morris backs me up.

And for the exact reasons I’ve been saying for months.

With Hillary likely to run (and haven’t we seen her posturing for such a run already??) for the Democratic party, she is likely to capture a huge amount of the electorate in the form of the women’s vote. Having Hillary become the first female President in the United States would be a huge coup d’etat for the Democratic party.

However, I have predicted (and now Morris echoes my views) that with Cheney not running in 2008, the perfect neutralizer to a Clinton candidacy is another woman - the antidote, so to speak.

Now what makes this possibility so much more viable is the extranneous benfits that the Republican party would gain from a Rice candidacy. She would also be the first major party candidate that was black (someone correct my facts if I am wrong, though I don’t believe I am).

That would have the benefit of forcing the hand of the African American political machines, such as the NAACP and the National Urban League, who steadfastly, despite consistent evidence to the contrary, reprimand the Republican party for being a party of racism.

Interesating thoughts anyway.

I was just thinking about this the other day as well. 2008 is going to be a very interesting election year.

She’s about the only one that I’d vote for. A decrepit old paratrooper.
